Project update, SE Portland rebuild. This chimney had no crown, and no flue tile. The chimney was also broken at the roofline. The masonry counter flashing was improperly installed using silicone sealant. This will accelerate the decay of the masonry at the roofline.
We took this chimney down below the flashing to where things were solid, and rebuilt from there. The rain doesn’t stop us from getting things done =)
