Rot Repair

During our beginning stages for a standard chimney repair, we came across a bigger issue. We found poor roof flashing conducted by a roofer. Screws were used to secure roofing and flashing down around the chimney, this has damaged the home. This roof flashing system collected an excess of water and has caused dry rot around the roofing. The sheathing needed to be cut out approximately 48 inches behind, and 16 inches in all directions from the chimney and replaced. We replaced the rotted trusses, sheathing, and supplied and installed new roof shingles. We then installed new step flashing, and a cricket to divert water and debris. Now, this chimney AND roof is secure, safe and will last for many more years.
