We took this aging NE Portland Fireplace, and did a complete remodel. We remove existing tiles from fireplace surround and hearth and Re-tiled using new tiles, matching the traditional design, but with a refreshed look. We raised the firebox floor, to give the incoming gas burning insert some room below (As requested by the homeowner). Here you see a before photo.
We took extra care to protect these original hardwood floors, here you see a photo during construction, after the new tiles had been laid.
