This beautiful 1907 historic home in northeast Portland’s chimney is cracked, loose and crumbling due to extensive saturation decay to the brick masonry cells. During saturation, this chimney has gone through extensive expansion and contraction during freezing temperatures. We’re bringing this chimney down to the roofline, and rebuilding from there, while performing a tuck point repair below the roofline, installing a liner, coating the smoke chamber, and a few other odds and ends to bring this chimney back to its former glory, safe for use and up to code.
