Wood Stove Inserts

Wood stove inserts are the best bang for your buck to reclaim functionality in an old drafty fireplace. They are essentially a wood stove designed to insert into an existing firebox cavity. They are vented through the original masonry or manufactured chimney passageway with a new 6 inch stainless steel chimney liner that connects to the top of the unit and terminates at the top of the chimney. This stainless steel chimney liner is insulated and provides superior draft. Wood stove inserts come in many sizes and it is important to get one that is properly sized for your fireplace and hearth. You will burn less wood and get more heat output from these appliances. They are so efficient you can’t see smoke coming out of the top of the chimney.

This is why they qualify for the federal biomass tax credit. You can receive up to $2,000 credit on your taxes with the purchase of a qualifying wood stove insert. They are equipped with a circulating blower that will produce rapid heat. I have many customers that heat their entire homes with a wood stove insert.

High-Efficiency Wood Fireplaces

These systems are like combining the large firebox size of a traditional fireplace and the technology of a high-efficiency wood stove. These fireplace systems are framed into the wall. They can be added to any room or changed out where an existing fireplace and chimney reside.

They are energy efficient using outside air for combustion and are vented through a double wall stainless steel insulated chimney also know as a Class A chimney. We install many different makes and models. These fireplaces burn less wood and pump all the heat into the living space. They are equipped with circulating blowers, and can have ducts attached to them to bring warm air to other living spaces throughout the home. Check out this project where we removed the old masonry fireplace and completely rebuilt the structure at a 45 degree angle to the corner to make the design more appealing and functional.
